Material Take-Offs and Integrations

Posted by

Over the next month, we are going to be exploring using MiTek Sapphire for doing material takeoffs. We will look at the tools themselves, the types of reports you can create, and the benefits to component manufacturers supplying more than trusses. Note, even if you are not designing or supplying wall panels, the program allows for the creation of lumber lists for loose material to be supplied, or even as a service to your customers (for a modest fee) who will purchase the material elsewhere.

Along with this, we will explore various integrations that allow an architect or engineer to send the component manufacturer their Revit file which allows for the creation of a structure model in a fraction of the time. With the use of a CAD file or a Revit file, we are not duplicating effort across disciplines. We are ensuring accuracy across disciplines and reducing wasted time in emails back and forth to clarify gray areas.
