How-To Convert A MiTek eFrame File To Sapphire In 5 Quick Steps

I recently helped a colleague convert an eFrame file to a Sapphire, and I realized that it would make a good topic for an article. It’s a pretty simple process, so this won’t be a lengthy read.

Step 1:  You will need to enable the file to be “V3 Compatible Data “. To do this, first we need to open MiTek’s eFrame, select the Setup Menu > Program Master > General. Check the Create “V3 Compatible Data” box.

Step 2: Next, open the eFrame job that you want to convert. Once it is open, hit save.

Step 3: After you have opened the job and saved it, open Sapphire.

Step 4: Next, open the “.efm” file that you saved in Step 2. After you open it, Sapphire will ask you to save it as a new file.

Step 5: Finally, follow the dialogue boxes and select the items appropriate to that specific project.  You will need to specify levels, and say “OK” to a bearing enhancement warning.

After step 5, your job will be imported to Sapphire.  The job imported for this article worked perfectly.  But cross your fingers! Some jobs may not import perfectly.  MiTek-eFrame-to-Sapphire-4

NOTE: If your job doesn’t come in perfect, you may need to re-cut some chords and/or adjust ends on some trusses. This really depends on how the job was entered into eFrame by the designer.I hope this helped! Thanks for reading!
